First Round of the 2016 Scholarship Scramble Is Set
We are ecstatic for Friday's Cedar Rapids Titan's game, as it the official kick-off to this year's Collins Community Credit Union Scholarship Scramble. Only 8 High School students get the chance to compete for the Scholarship money each year, and we now know 2 of those 8 for this year.
The Scholarship Scramble was started 4 years ago and has so far awarded over $3000 in scholarship money to area students while also giving out $1000 to area schools. Previous recipients include Jefferson, Solon, Prairie, and Washington. We've also seen competitors from Springville, Center Point-Urbana, Xavier, Linn-Mar, Marion, Kennedy, and North Linn compete, with all area High Schools being eligible. So far this season, applications have been rolling in from Washington, Linn-Mar, Jefferson, Kennedy, and Prairie. And we are excited to announce the first 2 contestants:
Bryan Kunde from Washington & Sam Bries from Linn-Mar
Congrats to both contestants on their selection and best of luck. Join us at halftime of the Titans game Friday to see who advances. Come cheer on your school!
There's also 6 more slots open, so get registered if you haven't already. Solon, Marion, Springville, CPU... where are you guys?
