A Sheriff and Sheriff’s Deputy Helped Deliver a Baby on an Eastern Iowa Highway
It was an interesting week for a couple of law enforcement officers!
A Grundy County deputy and Hardin County Sheriff Dave McDaniel both found themselves in the middle of tricky situation on Wednesday, when they pulled over to assist a woman who was in the advance stages of labor. The incident happened just east of Dike on U.S. Highway 20, where Dike fire and ambulance were called to the scene.
The unnamed mother and her new baby boy were taken to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, where both were said to be doing fine. Congratulations to the new mom and thanks to those individuals who made sure her and her newborn were safe and sound!
