Protecting our pets from deadly diseases or just getting lost can be a costly venture, so here's some great news. Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control is providing very cost rabies vaccinations and micro-chipping, but only for a couple hours.

Next Saturday, November 15th, from 1 to 3 pm, rabies vaccinations will be $10 each, and microchips are only $20 each. Please note it's only for two hours and the first 10 pets through the door also get a free gift.

We're all familiar with rabies, but statistics show that one of three pets are lost during their lifetime. Micro-chipping your pet(s) gives you the best chance of having them identified, if lost. I think that's a $20 well spent.

If you have a pet due for a rabies vaccination or one that isn't yet micro-chipped, I encourage you to put a special to-do on your calendar for November 15th.

Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control's Shelter is at 900 76th Avenue Drive Southwest, behind Washington Hall on the Kirkwood Campus. Questions can be directed to (319) 286-5993.
