Child Shot While At Iowa Apple Orchard

Officials in Chickasaw County are investigating a shooting an apple orchard in Nashua, Iowa. Officials say one person was taken to the hospital following what they call an accidental shooting.

Sheriff’s officials confirm that one person was shot at The Apples on The Avenue orchard at around 3 p.m. Sunday in Nashua. No information is being released on the victim, but authorities believe in is an isolated incident.

Officials believe the victim was hit by a stray bullet, possibly from a nearby shooting range. According to Facebook, a child was seriously injured at the orchard on Sunday and was taken to a local hospital.
