Last week I chose a movie off of my original list to watch, and it is a classic that a lot of people can't believe I've never seen! My movie pick for week 27 was: Rocky (1976).

I'll start by saying that I didn't HATE this movie, but I also didn't love it. I know, I know, it's a classic! But I've never really been big into sports movies, especially ones that are 2 hours long. I knew going into this movie that it wasn't going to be my favorite, but I figured I'd give it a chance anyways. I can definitely appreciate how iconic it is.

Overall, I thought the movie was just way too long. Until Rocky started training for the big fight, I was kind of bored. Everything moved pretty slow. I thought Rock's relationship with Adrian was really strange. The scene where she went to his house for the first time made me really uncomfortable for some really. The awkward tension between the two of them made me cringe! And what the heck was that kiss all about?! Why did they end up on the floor?! Don't get me wrong, that scene was entertaining to watch, I was just a little confused.

I did really enjoy all the boxing scenes, though. I liked Rocky's character and I was definitely rooting for him. I was really excited to finally see the big fight at the end. Oh, and of course the iconic scene of Rocky running up the steps to the theme song. That was cool to finally watch that because it's such a classic movie scene.

I thought the ending was kind of abrupt, and I couldn't really look at his face because of  his crazy, swollen eye. I'm still not 100% sure of what happened. I'm pretty sure he lost... right? But I don't really understand how. I mean, the fight went on forever and Apollo had internal bleeding. Rocky definitely won in my book.

Now that I watched the first one, I don't really know if I'm interested in seeing any of the sequels. Although, everyone has told me that Rocky 4 is the best, so maybe I'll give that one a chance another week.

If you have anymore suggestions for me, I'd love to hear them! Leave them in the comments below.
