The spring/summer 2018 movie season sure does have a University of Iowa flavor to it. The #1 movie in America, 'A Quiet Place' was written by two U of I alumni. Now, the film that will no doubt be #1 after this weekend, 'Avengers: Infinity War', is co-directed by another Iowa alumnus, Joe Russo (pictured above, left.)

'Infinity War' opens in theaters this weekend. The University of Iowa Lecture Committee is welcoming Russo back to Iowa on Monday, April 30th. He'll speak at The Englert Theater starting at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the event is free of charge. Seating will be limited and will be on a first come, first serve basis. Fans will also be able to win tickets to two free screenings of 'Infinity War'.

Another Marvel superhero will be in Iowa City over the weekend too. Hannah Beachler, the production designer from the movie 'Black Panther' will be at Flyover Fest in Iowa City this weekend.
