A race that's being called the "transcendent showdown at this year's USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships," will feature two women from the state of Iowa. And the best part is, the showdown happens right here in Iowa.

31-year-old Jenny Simpson is from Webster City. She's a 3-time Olympian who won the bronze medal in the 1500 meter run at the 2016 Olympic games.

25-year-old Shelby Houlihan is from Sioux City. A 2016 Olympian in the 5,000 meters, she ran the 1500 meters in Eugene, Oregon less than a month ago in 3:59.06, the best time in the world.

They each have won their preliminary heats, setting up what should be a very exciting race Saturday afternoon in, of all places, Des Moines, Iowa. Drake Stadium is hosting the event, but you can watch the race live on NBC. According to the schedule from the USA Track and Field 2018 Outdoor Championships, the race will happen at 3:46 p.m.
