Iowa’s Uthoff Named Wooden Award Finalist
Iowa senior forward Jarrod Uthoff has been named one of 20 late season finalists for the Wooden Award, handed out annually to the top player in college basketball. Three other Big 10 players are on the list including Denzel Valentine from Michigan State, Yogi Ferrell of Indiana, and Maryland guard Melo Trimble. Iowa State senior Georges Niang also made the list.
Uthoff is 3rd in the Big 10 in scoring at 18.4 points per game, first in blocked shots at 2.9 per game, and 8th in 3 point percentage. Uthoff and the 4th ranked Hawkeyes travel to Indiana tonight to battle the Hoosiers. Game time is 8pm tonight on ESPN.
