We've all got our gripes about this crazy winter, and the now infamous Polar VortexWell for me, it just turned costly.

I'm definitely not one of those "morons" on the road who fly by you as you're trying to drive safe, who think a 4WD package gives them the authorization to be as reckless on a snowy day as they'd like, because they can, with little care to those of us who are trying to drive safe.  I consider myself cautious.  But my little Eclipse is just about useless with this "melted snow frozen into ice then slushed then frozen then packed over with more snow". Coming out of my neighborhood is a hill straight down to the stop sign. And being in a neighborhood, I'm going slow enough, even more so than normal with the conditions, and I started breaking just before the decline.  But the car said no, spun around, and stopped at the demise of the mailbox.  Uggghhh....

I get it, it could've been worse.  Could've destroyed my car, injured myself, took out other cars...  and my insurance is good, so repairs won't be that bad, plus that mailbox is covered at no cost to the owner.  But, it still stinks.  And serves as a reminder...

Drive extra, extra cautiously,

cause you never know what your car vs. road will decide.
