Popular Cedar Rapids Restaurant Back in Downtown
I did a double take walking through downtown past the Armstrong Centre building recently. Gringo’s is back!
The restaurant shut down at their 1st Avenue downtown location in 2013. The Gazette says the owners closed at the time to spend more time raising their family, but are back, in the Food Gallery, which formerly housed Austin Blues BBQ, who left that location after the flood of 2016. Several other restaurants have called this building home over the years.
Gringo’s is open Monday-Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and, in addition to La Cantina, this offers another lunch option downtown to Mexican-food lovers.
Are you happy to see Gringo’s return and have you visited them in their new spot since they opened in April? Share your experience in the comments.
