Reggae On the River Coming May 24th: Who is Natty Nation?
We keep telling you about the McGrath Music on the River series, and the cool concerts coming over the next couple months. So who is “Natty Nation”, other than the band taking the Columbia Sportswear stage for our “Reggae on the River” night May 24th? And why should you check them out?
We’ll answer the second question first. If you’ve never “experienced” live reggae music, you’ve missed out. It’s not just listening, it’s truly experiencing. It just gets in your blood and your soul. You feel it, and can’t help but smile. Plus, it takes you to a “warmer” mindset, so what better way to welcome summer on Memorial Day weekend?
So who are these guys? Natty Nation is one of the heartland’s best known hard roots rock reggae and dub artists. With over 18 years of experience, they’ve shared the stage with some big names in reggae including Ziggy, Damian, and Stephen Marley, as well as Beanie Mann, Wailing Souls, and more, and have played at SXSW, Milwaukee Summerfest, and Bob Marley Fest in Florida. They hail from Wisconsin. But if you thought no solid reggae could come from the Cheesehead state, check this out and guess again.
Every concert is a different experience, and with amazing energy, complex beats and a vibration that’s impossible NOT to dance to.
