If you're in High School, there's no doubt that the thought of paying for college scares you. Good thing we've once again teamed up with Collins Community Credit Union once again for a chance for you to score some money for college, while also helping out your school.

Five years ago, in the early days of the station, we teamed with the brand new Cedar Rapids Titans to launch a halftime toss and dash competition, giving any and all High School Students the chance to compete for scholarship money, and money for their school.  Over the years, we've seen almost all area High Schools compete at some time or another, with winners from Jefferson, Solon, Prairie, and Washington. We've had guys and girls, athletes and non-athletes, upperclassmen and underclassmen, as the contest is open to ANY high school student looking for the chance to earn scholarship money.  Will this year be your year?

If you'd like the chance to compete, all you have to do is fill out the form below. We'll randomly select 8 students from all the entries. They will be paired off and compete at halftime of Cedar Rapids Titans games in a challenge of accuracy and speed. The winner will be the contestant with the most points in the shortest amount of time.

No matter if they win or loose, each contestant will receive cupcakes from Kathy's Pies just for competing (as well as get a complimentary pair of tickets to the game they'll be competing at). If they win the preliminary round, they'll also get an autographed Titans football and another pair of tickets to their next competition. If they win the semifinal, they'll head to the June 11th final, where the winner receives $500 towards their college expenses, $250 for their High School, and a Titans jersey. The runner-up gets $250! And it's all courtesy of Collins Community Credit Union!

It's worth a shot to get signed up, isn't it? After all, we could all use some extra help towards college expenses. Plus to get free tickets and cupcakes just for trying, why not? So sign up below and we'll let you know if you're one of the 8 chosen. You can also check out the complete list of rules here.
