Ellen DeGeneres Pressures Sia to Take Off Her Wig
If you’ve ever wondered what Sia looks like beneath those wigs she's been sporting for the past few years, you can just Google it. But for those of you who prefer a more dramatic reveal, look no further than today's (December 1) episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Sia spoke to host Ellen DeGeneres about the intent behind her concealing wigs, claiming she wears them so she can go out in public unbothered. She said, “Well, it’s just so that I can go to Target and buy a hose if I want to, or if I’m need of a restroom and can’t find one I can go by the side of the road and nobody would be following me with a camera trying to get the shot.”
Ellen then went on to pressure her "good friend" Sia into removing her wig so that viewers can get a glimpse of her face on national television. The two begin the process of bobby pin removal when the clip ends -- guess you'll have to tune in to see the big reveal!
Sia’s opened up in the past about her decision to conceal her face. Speaking with Interview Magazine she said that in addition to giving her “some control over [her] image,” the wig also allows her to perform without forcing her to surrender more privacy than she's willing to give.
She said, “I’m just trying to work out a way to be a singer and to create cool content. I’m willing to do that as an entertainer. But I’m not willing to give up my actual self.”
Watch Sia (almost!) shed her wig in the video above.
