The Most Searched Recipe in the State of Iowa
I guess here in Iowa we prefer to make our own snacks…
The website Delish recently published an article outlining the most popular foods that people are “pinning” in each state, according to Pinterest’s World’s Fare report. I’m not going to lie to you, I totally thought Iowa’s answer would be something deep-fried or related to corn (or both). I was shocked to discover that the winner was actually homemade Chex Mix. Whenever I want Chex Mix I just buy a bag of it, but apparently Iowans like to be a little more crafty. I didn’t realize that Chex-Mix actually required more effort than just throwing some ingredients into a bowl and calling it a day.

Here are some of the winners for surrounding Midwest states:
- Illinois – Wild Rice Soup
By simmering the wild rice with baking soda we decreased the cook time and brought out more robust flavor in our soup. We used the excess simmering liquid as boullion, infusing the entire soup with wild rice flavor. Tap the link in our profile to access our Wild Rice and Mushroom Soup for free today!
- Wisconsin – Puppy Chow
- Missouri – Cheesecake Dip
