Tyra Banks Is Ending ‘America’s Next Top Model’ (Not Fierce, Tyra)
WE WERE ROOTING FOR YOU. WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU. HOW DARE YOU?!
Out of nowhere, while we were busy practicing the art of ugly-pretty and smizing to ourselves in the mirror, glamorously #RawAndReal supermodel Tyra Banks casually logged onto Twitter to declare that this current season (cycle) of America's Next Top Model, Season 22, will be the last one of the ANTM series.
"TYRA MAIL! Thinking #ANTM22 should be our last cycle. I truly believe it's time. May your pics be forever fierce. Keep on Smizing! 💛Tyra," she tweeted.
Chrissy Teigen, super-spokesperson for the people, is just as disappointed as the rest of us.
The series, which began in 2003, not only produced dozens of models-turned-reality TV stars-turned-actresses over the years like Adrianne Curry, Analeigh Tipton, YaYa DaCosta and Whitney Thompson, but endless catchphrases, goofy and iconic pop culture moments and, most importantly, an endless array of GIFs to properly relay our Tyra-motions.
It also gave Tyra the terrifying power to give pretty women really, really unfortunate makeovers.
It's hard to know whether Tyra's decision was based on ANTM's dwindling relevancy in 2015 and/or a lack of viewership and/or Tyra's interest in pursuing her Beautytainment business ventures, but one thing's for sure: It was probably Tiffany's fault. Thanks a lot, Tiffany.
But hey, at least we've still got her Vine account.
