Thanks!  It's all because of you, so many children in our area will have a much warmer and safer winter. And honestly, thanks is just not saying enough.

One year ago, we teamed with Theisens Home, Farm, Auto to launch "Gloves of Love", collecting specifically gloves and mittens that we would bring to the Cedar Rapids School District.  And you came through with a generous donation, including more than just gloves, but hats and scarves too.  So we decided to do it again this year.  And you've blown us away.

Friday morning we arrived at the Cedar Rapids School District Administrative Offices with not only a box and a bag (like last year), but a big box and 2 smaller boxes, and 2 big bags stuffed full of gloves, hats, scarves, and mittens for kids.  It wasn't till we poured them all out that the impact of how you had helped really weighed in.  The Administrative team that met us, including outgoing Superintendent Dr. Benson, were taken aback.  So were we.

Thanks to your generosity, I think we near tripled our donation from last year.  And they were so excited, especially with how brutally cold it's been, that they refused to let us "clean-up our mess", as they were going to immediately package them up for distribution to the schools.  In fact Dr. Benson informed us of the growing number of homeless and underprivileged children in our schools, and how this donation will help in great ways, maybe more than we could've imagined.

So thank YOU.  You really pulled together to help our area kids.  We couldn't be more proud of you, our loyal listeners.
