You’re More Likely to Win the Lottery Twice Than Fill Out a Perfect Bracket
The first rounds of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament begin on Thursday, and people all over are busy filling out their brackets. 10% of the US population actually fills out a bracket, which is funny, because the odds of having a perfect one are 1 IN 9.2 QUINTILLION. That means it would be easier for you to win the Mega Millions twice in a row!
$12.5 billion is bet globally during March Madness, with $2.5 billion of that bet illegally. And businesses get hit, too! American businesses lose 1.9 billion just in productivity. I know I just filled out my bracket here at work. Sorry, boss :)
I wasn't really sure how to go about doing a bracket, because I've never done one before. I don't think I've ever even watched a college basketball game in my entire life, so I know absolutely NOTHING about how good each team is. I picked teams based off of ones that I've heard of, ones with cool names, and, my personal favorite, "eeny meeny miney mo."
