5 Smokin’ Hot Reasons the Freezing Weather Is Awesome
Thermometers across the country are falling quicker than a bad stock, but just because the temperature is low doesn’t mean you should feel that way, too. The cold weather can be a blessing if you look at it with the right mindset. Here are a few reasons why the bitter cold is a good thing:
When you’re a kid, nothing beats playing in the snow and then coming inside to warm up with a delicious mug of hot cocoa, right? Then, you grow up and graduate to the more mature tea and coffee. Well, here’s a secret: hot chocolate never stopped being amazing. It’s hot and it’s chocolate. What’s not to love? Do yourself a favor and enjoy a cup and be reminded that you were totally onto something when you were young.
No one is eating ice cream right now, for obvious reasons, but companies are still making it and supermarkets are selling it cheap. If you have spare room in your freezer, help yourself to a half-gallon and tuck it away. When the weather warms up, it’ll be a nice surprise for you.
Your body is actually hidden under layers of T-shirts, sweatshirts, longjohns, flannel socks, flannel shirts and a North Face coat that makes you look like Ralphie’s little brother in ‘A Christmas Story.’ Nobody will notice if you’ve packed on some pounds. Even when you’re indoors, you’ve got layers going, so don’t worry that people are judging you for carrying around some extra flab.
Whether it’s a movie marathon or finally catching up on every season of ‘The Walking Dead,’ this is perfect weather to curl up on the couch, grab the aforementioned hot chocolate and relax while the temperatures continue to plummet outside.
When it’s cold, we wish it was hot. When it’s hot, we long for the cold. It’s the way we’re wired. Well, now that it’s cold, just remember how annoyed you’d be if it was scorching outside and how we’d be inundated with news reports and YouTube videos of people trying to boil an egg on the sidewalk and friends on Facebook posting photos of the temperature on their car’s dashboard. The cold doesn’t seem so miserable now, does it?
