The Cedar Boat Club, established in 1948, will continue their 40+ year tradition of providing a FREE fireworks display along the banks of the Cedar River today, July 3rd, at dusk.

This year's show promises to be one of the largest displays they've ever put on. Generations of families have enjoyed this annual tradition since 1976, with many spectators first coming to watch as children and now bringing their own kids and grand kids.

Come early for the best sites to view along Ellis Harbor and bring your lawn chairs, blankets and coolers. There will be plenty of food vendors on sites near the Ellis Park pavilion, including Boulevard Grill, Whitey's Ice Cream, Kona Ice, Peppy's, J's Water Ice and our good friends at Beast Row Mobile Eatz.

This year's show will have increased security with double the CRPD force from last year. There will also be volunteers from the boat club walking through the crowd to spot any concerns and answer any questions from the public.

With the added security, comes additional costs, nearly double the amount the boat club has paid for security in the past. Thanks to a generous grant donation from the Linn County Board of Supervisors, the club is able to meet the rising costs of security and continue this free, fun, family event.

The club asks that everyone please come on out and enjoy one of the largest fireworks displays in the area and please be considerate and pick up and take your trash when you leave.

See you tonight at Ellis!

Special thanks to the Cedar Boat Club for everything they do!
