Cedar Rapids is devastated following derecho, but there are still needs that exist in other area communities. HACAP Food Reservoir is responding.

The Hiawatha-based Hawkeye Area Community Action Program heads to Iowa City this Friday, August 21 for one of its pop-up mobile food pantry events. Look for them from noon to 2 p.m. at Mercer Park (2701 Bradford Dr. in Iowa City). As with other pop-up pantries they've held, no identification is required and you can pick up items for multiple households.

HACAP serves communities in six counties including Benton, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn, and Washington. Their physical locations are closed and that's why these mobile pantries are so important and helpful. We'll keep you posted with more details as we learn about other locations.

Visit this website for more information on this event, other pop-up food pantries, and additional ways to give and receive help through HACAP.
