It might be a good idea to look in your fridge and double check what you have in the form of lettuce. We don't want anybody to get sick!

According to KWWL Television in Waterloo, "Hy-Vee is recalling a bagged salad mix in fears of it being contaminated with Cyclospora."

The store brand salad has been pulled off the shelves at all Hy-Vee locations. There has been an outbreak of Cyclospora in the Midwest and it could be traced down to the 12 ounce Hy-Vee garden salad.

The KWWL story said all bagged garden salad will be pulled from the Hy-Vee shelves regardless of date and UPC. At this point there hasn't been any reports of illness from the salad. It sounds like the grocery store is just trying to be safe and doing their best to prevent people from getting sick.

If you think you may have some of this garden salad mix, you can go to your local Hy-Vee and make a return. And to read the full story from KWWL, you can visit this link.

Cyclospora is a parasite and it's not something you want to be in contact with. Symptoms can include, weight loss, diarrhea, loss of appetite, cramping, bloating, increased gas, fatigue, nausea and vomiting.

These symptoms can last from a few weeks to a full month. Again, this is not something that you want to come in contact with and it's a very serious concern at this time.
