Iowa Named One of the Better U.S. States for Teachers
We may not be as great for teachers as New Jersey or Massachusetts, but at least we're not Hawaii or West Virginia!
A new survey by WalletHub ranked all 50 states on their teacher-friendliness, based on 16 different categories. For example, the survey looked at teacher to student ratios, salaries, competition, public school spending, and school rankings. We didn't do too bad here in Iowa, just missing the top 10 and coming in at #12, with a score of 56.94. Most of our Midwest neighbors did pretty well for themselves, too. Illinois came in at #3, Minnesota was 4th, and Nebraska and Missouri are 13th and 14th.
