Officers Rescue Injured Owl
An owl that was struck by a vehicle in nearby Southwest Wisconsin, has been successfully rehabilitated, and returned to the woods.
The injured owl was found by Grant County deputies Andy Smith and Cody Trumm.
The wounded Barred Owl had apparently been hit by a vehicle on County Road "T" in Marion Township, near Boscobel. The injured bird was discovered by the officers on the side of the road, the morning of April 15th.
The Grant County Sheriff contacted the Wisconsin DNR, which transported the owl to a rehab center in Vernon County.
After just over a month in rehab, the owl's condition improved enough, so that it could be released back into the woods. The recuperated bird was let loose on Tuesday (May 26).
