Six Area Schools to Dash For Big Cash Saturday Night
Saturday night is KHAK/Teacher Appreciation Night at the Cedar Rapids Roughriders as the team salutes teachers and educators at the game. However, six metro schools will also be sharing in big cash that will be given away.
The Cedar Rapids Roughriders have selected six schools to take part. After the first period of Saturday evening's game against Des Moines, a representative from each of these six schools will make the 'Dash for Cash' at the Stable:
- Westfield Elementary (Linn-Mar Schools)
- Prairie Creek Intermediate (College Community Schools)
- Pierce Elementary (Cedar Rapids)
- Harding Middle School (Cedar Rapids)
- Prairie Hill Elementary (College Community)
- Bowman Woods Elementary (Linn-Mar)
All the contestants will go out together with a total of $2500 in "cash" on the ice. Note, real money will NOT be used for the actual contest. The six people will each be trying to grab as much of the "cash" as possible in 60 seconds. Whatever they're able to collect, the school will receive that amount of real money later.
Kudos to the Roughriders and Hills Bank, the sponsor of the cash contest, for doing this great thing for our schools!
Look for Danielle and me when you arrive on Saturday night. We'll be just inside the doors after you enter, signing you up for tickets to Kenny Chesney's Des Moines show in May and also letting kids roll our giant dice for a chance to win movie tickets!
