A new survey from DigitalHub looked at how our mood shifts during the day. Also on weekdays, we're at our happiest between 6:00 and 9:00 pm, because we finally get to unwind from work. On weekends, we start feeling good a lot earlier, around 11:00 am.

The survey also asked people to name the top things that can instantly put you in a good mood.  Here are the top ten . . .

1. A good night's sleep.

2. When the sun comes out.

3.  Going for a walk. (Probably not during a cold, cold Iowa winter)

4. Getting a compliment.

5. Finding money in your pocket.

6. Getting a hug.

7. Good weather on the weekend.

8. The sound of birds chirping.

9. Flowers in bloom.

10. Having a snack. (Duh!)

A few more that just missed the top ten are hearing the words, 'I love you', eating a home-cooked meal, sleeping in, the smell of fresh-cut grass, finishing work early, and bumping into an old friend.
