Women’s Clothing Store to Close All Locations
Yet another major U.S. retailer has announced they'll be closing all of their stores. This time it's the women's clothing store Dressbarn, who announced "plans to commence a wind-down of its retail operations, including the eventual closure of its approximately 650 stores.”
In a statement, CFO Steven Taylor said,
For more than 50 years, Dressbarn has served women's fashion needs, and we thank all of our dedicated associates for their commitment to Dressbarn and our valued customers. This decision was difficult, but necessary, as the Dressbarn chain has not been operating at an acceptable level of profitability in today's retail environment.
During the wind-down process, we will continue to provide our customers with the same great experience both in-store and online, offering them even better deals and value. We will work to assist our associates through the transition and maintain existing relationships with our vendors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders through this process.
The announcement of when individual stores will close will come at a later time. Dressbarn stores and the company's website remain open today and the website has no messaging about the news that was revealed earlier today.
Dressbarn has ten locations in Iowa. They're located in Ankeny, Cedar Rapids, Coralville, Council Bluffs, Davenport, Dubuque, Sioux City, Waterloo, West Des Moines, and Williamsburg.
